Bayelsa Government's Accountant Allegedly Runs Away With Gov. Dickson's N1.84b (Photo)

Bayelsa State Government House Accountant's home was purportedly struck on the requests of Governor Seriake Dickson after he allegedly stole away with his key's cash said to be a whooping $4.6million.

Agents of the Special Anti-Robbery Squad (SARS) in Bayelsa State on Wednesday, struck the private living arrangement of the Bayelsa State Government House Accountant, Richard Etonye in a mystery operation that went on for around two hours.

The house, situated along Brass Road was purportedly struck on the requests of Governor Seriake Dickson after Etonye allegedly stole away with his key's cash said to be $4.6million. The cash was given over to the bookkeeper by the senator for safe keep only a couple days before the strike on Tuesday.

A representative for Mr. Dickson who was reached, said that they were not part of the strike and were not educated concerning why SARS struck Mr. Etonye's home.

The representative said that "[Mr. Etonye] completely did not take any cash from the Governor" and "we were informed that the group was sent from the IG [Idris] from Police Force HQ yet we don't know why."

As per a security source near Government House, Yenagoa, Governor Dickson had given over the total to his bookkeeper cousin in the blink of an eye before withdrawing for Akure, the Ondo State capital, to direct the PDP governorship essential which hung on Monday.

"The cash was given to him by Oga before we cleared out for Ondo State however when we gave back, the bookkeeper was not a single where in sight and his lines exchanged off," one source said.

"Indeed, even his significant other was not at home and subsequent to sitting tight for more than twelve hours, the senator requested that his private home be looked by the police to see regardless of whether he kept the cash there. At this moment, we are looking from him since he has cleared his family from the official quarters in Government House," the source said.

The Bayelsa State police representative when reached, told a reporter that he was ignorant of any operation including Mr. Etonye.
